The second runner-up

Today I read that Monterrey (the 3rd biggest city in Mexico, and the one I've lived the most in) is still competing to be host to the 2016 Olympic Games--I thought it had already been disqualified--, and that one of the cities it's competing against is Chicago (the 3rd biggest city in the US, where I was born and lived for 10 years), and that one of Chicago's plans is to build a new Olympic stadium designed by Santiago Calatrava, one of the current star architects in the world and a native of Valencia (the 3rd biggest city in Spain, and where I've been living for nearly 2 years.) I guess it's clear that next year I should probably move to Manchester (the 3rd biggest city in the UK), where I've already done a pilgrimage to several years ago because a lot of my favorite bands are from there. What could be made of this gravitation towards 3rd places...?
