Unas píchurs

El sábado los chicos del Sinpy Jo's (un pub en el barrio de Russafa en Valencia) me hicieron una fiesta de despedida, luego algunos de nosotros seguimos la fiesta en el club Latex; subí algunas de las fotos a flickr, puedes verlas aquí.

Last Saturday the guys at Sinpy Jo's (a pub in the Russafa neighborhood in Valencia) threw a farewell party for me, then a few of us went dancing to the Latex club. I uploaded some of the pictures of that night to flickr; see here.

I keep this blog mostly to stay in

touch with family and friends I've

been leaving here and there over

the years. I grew up in Chicago and

Monterrey, but since 2001 Madrid,

Boston, Valencia, and San Francisco,

where I've lived since 2008, have

been home at one point or another.

I sometimes post personal updates

but, as the blog's title suggests,

another topic rules this corner

of the blogosphere.

Music--listening to, reading about,

and trying to concoct--monopolizes

most of my personal time and my

conversations with friends, and thank

goodness this medium allows people

to listen to the actual music I'm

trying to write about, compensating

for my lack of flair. I mostly listen to

British indie, but you can also find

American indie, post-rock, electronica,

and Rock en español in my iTunes

library. I spend a good part of my

vacation time (and money!) going

to concerts and music festivals.

I also dig watching movies and reading,

but I have to admit most of my reading

is restricted brief pieces in magazines

and periodicals, some online, some in

print; the last decade or so I've probably

only read 3 or 4 proper books per year.

I like to travel and take pictures, too.

I studied Computer Science (and then

suffered through an MBA), so I'm into

technology and science-related matters.

I've been an Apple user most of my life.

I try to be aware of current affairs,

but mostly stay away from politics.

Eating well and staying fit are things

I wish I were better at, but ain't

disciplined enough.
